The agricultural health insurance company (LKK) is part of the agricultural social security (LSV) in Germany.

The LSV consists of that

• Agricultural professional association (LBG) since 1881
• Agricultural age cash (LAK) since 1957
• Landwirtschaftlichek health insurance company (LKK) since 1972
• Auxiliary supply cash for employees in the agriculture and forestry (ZLA/ZLF)
• Agricultural care cash (LPK) since 1995

and is part of the German social security system.

There are 9 LKKen in Germany to their seat and competence after those of the 9 LBGen arranges itself.

Contrary to the general ones, spare, guild and staff sickness funds the members of the LKK do not have right to vote. The necessity for its own health insurance company justifies itself in the fact that

• the LKK all persons, who are busy in the agriculture (thus also entrepreneur, their spouse and cooperating relatives, old person divisors, not however family-strange person employed) insured,

• the contribution to the LKK after the resource of the agricultural enterprises with consideration solidarity principle computes itself,

• in the medical case the agriculture other requirements of a health insurance company for the maintenance of a agricultural (family) enterprise and the economic situation of the farmers resulting from it places (e.g. also a agricultural worker qualified of the LKK in the medical case can be requested).

The LKKen has, just like in the general health insurance, a management, executive committee and representative meeting as committees of the autonomy.
