Anton Fugger (* 10. June 1493 in Nuremberg; "† 14 September 1560 in Augsburg) was a German buyer and banker. It applies until today as one of richest humans of world history.

Anton was born as a third and youngest son of George Fugger and his Mrs. Regina Imhof in Nuremberg. 1525 he took over the Handelsimperium of the Fugger of his uncle Jakob "„handing "“, who remained childless, together with his brother Raymund and its cousin Hieronimus. Anton Fugger was beside Jakob Fugger the most important member of this family, which had become within fewer generations the richest family of the world.

he married 1527 Augsburger Patriziertochter Anna Rehlinger. From the marriage four sons and six daughters followed.

1530 he was raised to the realm count. 1532 recognized it Raymund and Hieronimus as head of the company on. In the consequence it expanded the trade of the Fugger until Buenos Aires (Argentina), Mexico and west India. It supported the emperors Ferdinand I. and Karl V. and was considered as "„a prince of the buyers "“. Its large achievement was it to initiate the development of the future "„of the Fugger name and trunk "“. It changed the economic bases with a strongly increased reason and rule possession. Finally he prepared the coming social role of the family by purposeful marrying of his sons and daughters with the aristocracy. It fundamentierte the influence and increased wealth and reputation of the Fugger.
