August baron of the Heydt (* 15. February 1801 in Elberfeld (now Wuppertal), "† 13. June 1874 in Berlin) be a banker and Prussian Handels- and Minister of Finance under king Friedrich William IV.

August of the Heydt let the first Telegrafen establish country-wide and helped the Prussian king to finance the army reform against the will of the parliament. He was raised on it into the Prussian nobility. As a Minister of Trade a trailer of the state railway thought was also responsible from the Heydt up to its dismissal 1869 for the state railways and.
