Axel Alfred weber (* 8. March 1957 in Kusel) is since 30 April 2004 a president of the German Federal Bank.

Life

From 1976 to 1982 weber in Konstanz studied economic science and administrative sciences and locked its study with a diploma in political economy in the same year. It went then for six years to the University of victories and attained a doctorate in this time to the Dr. rer. pole. After the Habilitation 1994 it accepted a chair for economic theory at the University of Bonn, from where it changed 1998 to the University of Frankfurt/Main. Since November 2001 it had a chair for international economics at the university to Cologne and was from 2002-2004 member in the board of experts for the investigation of the overall economic development (advice of the restaurant ways).

In addition weber was a director centers for of the Financial Studies in Frankfurt/Main; starting from October 2002 it was member in the scientific adviser of the German Bundesbank.Axel webers is member of the university advice of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University of Frankfurt/Main.

In April 2004 the non-party weber on suggestion of Federal Minister of Finance Hans Eichel was appointed as a successor withdrawn Ernst Welteke the new president of the German Federal Bank.
