The BKK Akzo Nobel Bavaria was created on 14 April 1924 as staff sickness fund (BKK) for the work upper castle the united glazed fabric factories. In the course of Umfirmierungen of the carrier enterprise the name changed later on BKK glazed fabric AG, BKK Enka glazed fabric AG, BKK Enka AG, BKK Akzo fiber AG, BKK Akzo Nobel - in each case with the additive "“work upper castle"”.

If the BKK Akzo Nobel Bavaria accomplished in former times only the legal health insurance in the carrier enterprise of the persons employed, the health insurance company became selectable by the opening 1 January 1999 for all legally insured ones in the Land of the Federal Republic Bavaria. Thus the number of members of 8.000 to 23.000 rose.

The cash has its seat in Bavarian upper castle at the Main as well as an office in Aschaffenburg and employs 50 coworkers.
