Caio Weser (* 25. July 1944 in be a German government and a international Finanzbeamter.

Cook Weser was born in Brazil; its parents and grandparents had left Germany during the national socialism. Its grandfather was the former realm Minister of Justice, vice-chancellor and strip packing politician Erich cook Weser. To its school time in it went 1961 to Germany, made Abitur at the human High School school Birklehof in Hinterzarten/Black Forest and studied thereafter national economy, sociology and history in Berlin and Bonn and terminated the study as a diploma political economist.

Starting from 1973 it was active for the World Bank, since 1991 as a vice-president and since 1996 as an acting director.

In May 1999 it changed as an undersecretary of state into the Federal Ministry of finances. It was 2000 first candidate of the Federal Government for the position as acting director and executive chairman of the board of the International Monetary Fund, however from the USA was rejected (refuge charcoal burner was selected later). In October 2005 he communicated to leave the Treasury on own desire.

It changed to it into the private financial system and is active since January 2006 in the extended executive committee of the German bank. As Vice Chairman it reports directly at the chairmen of the board and to the extended company executive committee, as well as customer of the bank as an advisor at the disposal will be. This change is examined however still by the BMF whether a clash of interest does not develop here, since it was responsible with the BMF to control the banks. In its function as an undersecretary of state it had approved the disputed guidance structure of the German bank, although the Ministry of Justice had substantial legal doubts.

Caio cook Weser is member in the Kuratorium of the Bertelsmann donation, in the donation advice of the World Economic forum (WEF) and in the executive committee in Brussels of the residents think tank BRUEGEL.
