Work

Charles resounding garden contributed much to the development away from the pure alms giving to the modern social welfare, e.g. in the area of the child and juvenile welfare service (establishment of child strongholds, creches, baby milk kitchens, convalescent homes, association child protection,). Some the institutions created by Charles resounding garden are also today still of enormous importance. In addition the Kalmenhof in Idstein counts, based as home for "„idiotische "“children (opening 1888). Today the socialeducational center Kalmenhof is a mechanism of the national welfare organisation Hessen, in which from approximately 300 woman employees mentally handicapped 370, learn-obstructed and behavior-remarkable children and adults stationarily and further 130 to be ambulatory cared for.

Properties were acquired, built settlements. The ABG developed to the largest and most active non-profit building association; many hundred dwellings at reasonable prices including infrastructure (association house, people kitchen, child strongholds, playgrounds etc.) developed.
