Chase Manhattan Bank was an US-American bank, which with the union of Chase National Bank and Bank OF the Manhattan company in the year 1955 developed.

The bank OF the Manhattan company was created 1799 by Alan Burr. The name of the Chase National Bank comes from Salmon P. Chase, which had however no connections to it. Into the 1930er years the bank had been merged with John D. Rockefeller II.s Equitable Trust bank.

Into the 1950er years stood the Chase National Bank under strong influence of the family Rockefeller, which resulted from the union into the 1930er years. The bank was led by John J. McCloy. Although the Chase National Bank was the larger of the two banks, the union was organized as assumption of the Chase National Bank by the bank OF Manhattan company, in order to carry for the shareholders calculation.

Under David Rockefeller became the bank part getting thing, the Chase Manhattan corporation. In the year 2000 the Chase Manhattan corporation and the J.P closed. Morgan & CO. Incorporated to the J.P. Morgan Chase & CO. (also JPMorgan Chase) together.
