Citibank is the largest Finanzdienstleister of the world for private customers. It belonged to the Citigroup and has its head office in New York.

It was created 1812 as town center bank OF New York. 1894 became it the largest bank of the USA. 1902 began it to expand internationally and became the first large US bank with a foreign department. Until 1930 it became the world largest bank with 100 branches in 23 countries outside of the USA. 1955 were renamed it in The roofridge national town center bank OF New York, 1962 in roofridge national town center bank and 1976 in Citibank.

In the meantime is represented Citibank according to own data in over 100 countries on all 6 continents.

In Germany is among other things represented by the following societies Citibank:

• Citibank private customers AG & CO. KGaA with head office in Duesseldorf, which resulted to 2004 from Umfirmierung from Citibank private customer AG. Since 1992 the German Citicorp daughter under the name Citibank firmiert, before was well-known the bank under the name KKB (customer credit bank).
• the Citicorp service GmbH, with registered place of business in Duisburg. The Citicorp was created service GmbH 1999 as subsidiary company Citibank private customer AG.
• the Citigroup global Markets Germany AG & CO. KGaA, Frankfurt/Main
• the Citicorp Germany GmbH, as management getting thing of the other societies in Germany
