Eugen man (* 24. June 1840 in Dresden, "† 21. August 1925 in Berlin) be a German banker.

On its advice the family Kaskel 1872 converted its private bank into a corporation, the Dresdens bank. Property man, who is considered since that time as a founder of the institute, was following from 1872-1920 of chairmen of the board of the bank, up to his death of honorary chairmen of the supervisory board. It was 1905 likewise joint founders of the German Orientbank and the GermanSouth American bank. Property man introduced the concept of the branch bank to Germany. 1881 were created the first branch in Berlin, which became 1884 the head office. It achieved such a fast growth of the Dresdens bank.

It was involved into the financing of the German heavy industry, among other things as supervisory board of the Gelsenkirchener Bergwerks-AG, the Saar and Mosel mine society and the GermanAustrian mining company. By the buying up of shares of the bill Hibernia for the Prussian government in the so-called Hibernia affair playful it itself however Reputation with the prominent Ruhr ruhrindustriellen such as August Thyssen and Hugo Stinnes, since he worked for the nationalization of bills. 1920 withdrew itself property man to the seat honorary presidents of the Dresdens bank.

2002 created the Dresdens bank the Eugen Gutmann society, a whose goal is the development and retaining of the history of the Dresdens bank.
