The federation of the German free ones public savings banks registered association is the roof federation of the free savings banks in Germany. Free savings banks are savings banks, which not when are organized institute of the public right, but another legal form have.

Organization and tasks

The federation is a registered association with seat in Frankfurt/Main. The office of the federation sits in Bremen. Organs of the federation are the meeting of the members and the executive committee. Tasks of the federation are in accordance with its statute "„the promotion of the savings thought and the savings bank nature generally "“and the promotion and support "„of the special interests of its members "“(lobbying). To it also the promotion of the transnational co-operation of the free savings banks of Europe and the intensive public work belong.

Federation chief is Oltmann (chairman of the executive committee that the savings bank Bremen AG); Federation managing director is Ralf ruffle.

The federation is extraordinary member of the German savings bank and Giroverbands.

Members

In Germany there are the following sieved free savings banks:

  • Bordesholmer savings bank (economic association)
  • The savings bank Bremen AG (corporation)
  • Frankfurt savings bank AG (corporation, until 2005: Economic association)
  • Saving and borrowing cash to Bredstedt AG (corporation)
  • Savings bank to Luebeck AG (corporation, until 31 October 2004: Donation)
  • Hamburg savings bank AG (corporation, until 2002: Legal entity old person of Hamburgi right)
  • Savings bank central Holstein AG (corporation)

Further member is the savings bank west Holstein, which came out as institute of public right from a former free savings bank.

As extraordinary members 37 savings banks from France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Switzerland and Tschechien as well as the federation of the Swedish free savings banks (Fristaende Sparbankers ) belong to the federation.

History

The first German savings banks became end 18. and at the beginning 19. Century frequently of private people as free savings banks based. The establishment of local savings banks took place usually later via cities and districts than part of the municipal administration. Starting from beginning 19. Century existed free and local savings banks next to each other. The federation of the German free ones public savings banks was created 1920.
