The GAD (former abbreviation for society for automatic data processing) is the computing centre for 470 genossenschaftliche people and Raiffeisen banks in north and West German area with head office in It is in the legal form of a registered cooperative.

History

The GAD was created on 26 December 1963 as the first genossenschaftliche computing centre in the northwestGerman area, further establishments follows in several other cities. The GAD had 23 coworkers when its establishment. First in the legal form of a GmbH it is converted 1966 into an EEC. In this year the GAD processes already 30 millions accounting items. 1971 flow the computing center of the West German people banks into the GAD.

Starting from 1978 the customers of the GAD can access on-line current data in the computing centre for the first time and change them. With the introduction of the interactive videotext 1983 the GAD is attainable as the first computing centre to Germany around the clock for the customers.

1997 took over the GAD the GFI, a union of the genossenschaftlichen computing centres Cologne and Koblenz. 2001 took place the fusion of the GRZ cooperative computing center Northern Germany GmbH with seat in taught and the GAD society for automatic data processing EEC to the GAD EEC.

The ELAXY, the financial enterprise software for the customer advisory service and account offers among other things, is a 100 percent Tocher of the GAD.
