Jean-Claude Trichet (* 20 December 1942 in Lyon) is French Expert of financial politics and president of the European central bank.

Trichet studied national economy and has a conclusion of the French elite university ENA. As a director/conductor of the office for treasure it served 1993 since 1987 five French prime ministers, became it a president of the French issuing bank.

Against it because of wrong statement during a process around the bank denationalized meanwhile Lyonnais was determined from 2000 to 2003. Trichet was acquitted on 18 June 2003.

Since 1 November 2003 he is a president of the EZB. France would have seen, agreed it gladly already 1998 as a first president of the EZB however to a compromise, after which the Dutchman Willem Duisenberg became a first president, however after well half of its term of office its office at Trichet handed over.
