Johann Philipp Bethmann (* 30 November 1715 in Nassau with Frankfurt/Main, " 27 November 1793 in Frankfurt/Main), German buyer and banker.
Bethmann, whose ancestor from the Netherlands had been sold, is the oldest son of the Simon Moritz Bethmann. After the early death of the father it buildup with its uncle Jacob Adamy, whose business enterprise it inherited then. After it had received 1746 the citizen rights of the city Frankfurt, it took up 1748 its younger brother Simon Moritz to the enterprise, so that this year is considered as of the Bethmann bank.
1762 married Johann Philipp Bethmann a daughter Frankfurt jurors of the Schaaf. After his death 1793 its only son Simon Moritz led the house.
That today also as" country house Bethmann "admitted summer-house, which had been built 1760, of Johann Philipp Bethmann was leased and served the family starting from 1785 as summer dwelling. 1813 were it the accomodation itself on the retreat Napoleon present Bonaparte. 1855 became it the main domicile of the Bethmanns. A museum was added 1856.
