Baron Jules Paul Benjamin Delessert, (* 14 February 1773 in Lyon; "† 29 January 1858 in Paris), was a French banker, manufacturer and a scientist.

Life

Delessert was the son of the banker Delessert (1735-1816), from a calvinistischen family, 1777 moved it with its family from Lyon to Paris, where the father became very successful in the trade and in the industry. Its son Alexandre Henri Edouard, (* 15 December 1828, accompanied 1850, Louis Joseph Caignart de Saulcy on its journey to Palestine and reported on it in "Voyage aux villes maudites" (1853, 4.
