The MBNA corporation is a bank holding company with head office in Wilmington (Delaware), the USA. It is specialized the world-wide largest independent exhibitor by credit cards, in Affinity marketing.

The name MBNA is derived from "Maryland bank national Assiciation ", is however meanwhile no more abbreviation. The main part of the MBNA is "the MBNA America bank ". The current Slogan (conditions July 2005) the MBNA is "If you're into it, we're into it. ". Their annual incomes amount to 9,56 USD (conditions 2004).

On 30 June 2005 MBNA announced that she is bought up of the bank OF America for shares and money in the value of more than 35 billion USD. It is expected that the contracts in the fourth quarter 2005 are signed.

MBNA was created 1982 aforementioned by a group of leading employees of the Maryland National Bank, by Charles M. Cawley. Up to its death the owner of the football team was Cleveland Browns, aluminium Lerner, chairman of the board of the society. The first branch of the MBNA was in Ogletown, Delaware. As the MBNA after Delaware furnished it moved it their first office in a converted A&P supermarket.

The society, which is active in the United States, Canada, Ireland, Spain and the united kingdom, offers also small customer inserts, consumer loans and insurance.
