The term national central bank (NZB) designates the central bank of the individual nations of an European Union member state.
The national central banks form the European system of the central banks (ESZB) in the context of the European monetary union (EWU) together with the European central bank (EZB). In the EZB advice the NZB presidents of all countries, which lead the euro as currency, are in which monetary political decision making involved.
The German national central bank is the German Federal Bank, the Austrian NZB is the Austrian central bank.
