Norbert walter (* 23 September 1944 in waking brook/Lower Franconia) is a chief political economist of the German bank.

It studied Volkswitschaftelehre in Frankfurt and attained 1966 the conclusion diploma economist. Afterwards it became coworker at the Insitut for capital market research, attained a doctorate in the year 1971 and went to Institut for world economy, where it had different leading positions and 1975 became professor and a director.

In the year 1987 it changed into the economical department of the German bank and became 1990 chief political economist of the bank. 1992 he took over additionally the line of the again-created daughter railways Research.

Walter belongs to different committees of the European Union, is married and father of two children.
