Oikocredit is an internationally active credit cooperative with head office in Amersfoort NL. A goal of Oikocredit is development promotion by granting of credit at cooperatives and enterprises of disadvantaged humans in developing countries as well as mobilization of church and private capital for such projects.

History

The development cooperative Oikocredit at that time still became 1975 on initiative of the advice of the churches under the English designation Ecumenical development Cooperative Society (abbreviation: EDCS) based with the goal of the mobilization of church reserves for development promotion. Organization and function
