Rabobank is Netherlands Kreditinstitut. The enterprise developed 1972 from the fusion of the Centrale Raiffeisen bank and the Centrale Boerenleenbank. It is thus a group of loan banks, their central administration a subsidiary is and not the controlling body. The name Rabobank is an abbreviation of "Raiffeisen Boerenleenbank". The name part of "Raiffeisen" decreases/goes back on Friedrich William Raiffeisen, while "Boerenleenbank" reminds of the roots as rural money borrowing cooperative. Rabobank is the only non-private bank of the world with one tripolarizes A-weighting (AAA+).
