Rabobank is Netherlands Kreditinstitut. The enterprise developed 1972 from the fusion of the Centrale Raiffeisen bank and the Centrale Boerenleenbank. It is thus a group of loan banks, their central administration a subsidiary is and not the controlling body. The name Rabobank is an abbreviation of "“Raiffeisen Boerenleenbank"”. The name part of "“Raiffeisen"” decreases/goes back on Friedrich William Raiffeisen, while "“Boerenleenbank"” reminds of the roots as rural money borrowing cooperative. Rabobank is the only non-private bank of the world with one tripolarizes A-weighting (AAA+).
