Mnchmeyer, Hengst & CO., briefly SMH bank, was a German private bank with seat in Hamburg.

The SMH bank was 1969 by the union of the banking houses "“ of brothers & CO."” and "“ & CO."” in Hamburg as well as "“Friedrich Hengst & CO."” in open brook developed.

Alwin that Hamburg banker and personally responsible partners of many years, was from 1968 to 1975 of chairmen of the Federal association of German banks.

Those Hamburg private bank, which stood for 1983 already once briefly under line of the late condemned Ferdinand count von Galen after burst credits at a value of 900 million DM to the likewise condemned construction machine dealer refuge Dieter Esch before the failure and thereupon by the majority by the British Lloyds bank one took over, was taken over 1997 by the Swiss federal major bank UBS. The legal form was changed into a corporation. Swiss concentrate in Germany on wealthy private customers and the Investmentbanking.

2001 are renamed the banking house only in UBS private Banking Germany AG, afterwards in UBS Germany AG and the name Mnchmeyer, Hengst disappear from the German bank landscape.
