Wegelin & CO. Is considered to private bankers as oldest Kreditinstitut of Switzerland. The head office is pc. Gallen, further agencies is in Zurich, Berne, Lausanne, Lugano and Schaffhausen.

History

The enterprise became at the 1. March 1741 based by Caspar Zyli (1717-1758) as Einzelunternehmung named linen cloth trade and forwarding business action. 1802 the building Nothveststein which this very day seat of the bank is established already. 1860 became the nephew Zylis Emil Wegelin game partner. To the famous customers to the time at that time de Montijo belonged. 1893 were converted the enterprise into a limited partnership and concentrated now mainly on the administration of an estate. 1909 were published the first plant comment, to today a considered publication in Switzerland. 1990 had the banking house of 30 coworkers. 1998 were certified the enterprise as the first bank of Switzerland according to ISO 9001. According to own data the enterprise had 1999 40% market share for structured financial products in the Schweiz.2000 the branch in Lugano was opened. Starting from 2001 the enterprise at Swiss stock exchange SWX and the Virt x was noted. The branch in Berne was opened 2002, to 2004 followed Lausanne, 2005 work living. 2005 had the enterprise of about 230 coworkers.

Firm's structure

Unrestrictedly responsible complementary ones are Dr. Otto Bruderer, Dr. Konrad Hummler, Dr. Steffen mad one, engineer Michele moorland and Dr. Magne Orgland which the enterprise lead. Limited partners are members of the family Wegelin.
